Getting underway
How do I start a new trip?
From the home screen, sign in with your email — we send a one-time code, no password to remember. Once you’re in, hit “New trip” on the trips list, give it a name and some dates, and you’re off.
Do I need an account?
To create or edit a trip, yes — but only the email-and-code kind. To view a trip someone has explicitly shared with you via a read-only link, no.
What if I’m planning with someone who doesn’t want to sign up?
Add them as a roster-only member. They’ll show up in the People panel and on activity headcounts, without ever getting an invite email. When they’re ready to actually use the app, you can convert them into a real, claimable seat.
Bringing people along
How do I invite the rest of my group?
Open the People panel on any trip and copy the invite link. Send it however you send things — text, email, carrier pigeon. They’ll sign in with their own email when they tap it, and they’ll land straight on the trip.
Can someone view a trip without signing in?
Yes, through a read-only share link. They’ll see what you’ve planned but won’t be able to vote, comment, or rearrange anything. Useful for parents, plus-ones, or anyone you want to keep in the loop without giving the keys.
What can a viewer do versus a member?
A viewer can look but not touch. A member can vote on activities, leave comments, claim bookings, drag things around, and upload photos. The trip’s owner can hand out either role from the People panel.
Planning together
How does voting work?
Tap the little heart on any activity. Everyone who’s “in” shows up as an avatar on the card. Not voting isn’t a no — it just means you haven’t weighed in yet. The point is to surface enthusiasm, not police anyone’s attendance.
What’s the difference between tentative, confirmed, and cancelled?
Tentative means it’s an idea on the table. Confirmed means it’s locked — booked or unmissable. Cancelled keeps the activity visible (so you remember it was discussed) but greys it out so the rest of the plan doesn’t shift.
Can I rearrange activities?
Yes — long-press and drag. You can reorder within a day, or drag an activity onto a different day to reassign it. Everyone else’s screens update in real time.
Why does an activity have priority colours on the side?
High / medium / low priority. It’s a soft signal so the group knows what’s “must-do” vs. “nice if it happens.” Set it from the activity’s detail view.
Bookings & photos
How do bookings work when one person buys everyone’s tickets?
Activities have an optional booking section. Whoever’s buying claims tickets on behalf of specific people. The booking shows who paid, who’s covered, and who still needs to be sorted — so nothing gets quietly forgotten in a group chat.
Can I upload photos and PDFs?
Yes — to the trip itself or to individual activities. Files live in storage that’s private to your trip members and served through short-lived links. No public buckets, no surprise indexing.
Is there a chat?
Comments live on each activity, not the trip as a whole. The idea is to keep conversation attached to the thing it’s about — “what time for the museum?” next to the museum, not buried in a thread.
The boring (important) bits
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — Troovi was built mobile-first. Most of the planning fun happens on a phone, especially mid-trip when you’re trying to remember the name of that café.
How much does it cost?
Nothing right now. Troovi is in alpha, and pricing isn’t set yet. Before anything changes, everyone using Troovi will get plenty of notice.
Where does my data live? Who can see it?
Short answer: on Supabase, only visible to the people you invite to your trips. Long, honest answer with all the details lives on the privacy page.
I found a bug / I have an idea — what do I do?
Right now Troovi’s being passed around by hand to a handful of testers, so the best thing is to mention it to whoever invited you. A proper feedback form is on the list — file that under “ideas,” we suppose.
